Navigating Pop Culture as a Catholic Woman

Hey friends, it’s Courtney and Meghan here! This week's episode was one of those conversations that left us both thinking, “Wow, we needed this.” And honestly? We think you might need it too.

We’re living in a world where pop culture is loud. It’s on our phones, in our playlists, in our everyday conversations. And as two women trying to live faithfully in the midst of it all, we wanted to talk about that tension — how do we enjoy the world we’re living in without letting it shape us in ways we don’t even notice?

This all started with a little reflection on Taylor Swift’s latest album announcement, The Life of a Showgirl. If you're a regular around here, you know — we’re big Taylor Swift fans. But this announcement got us thinking: how should we, as Catholic women, be responding to this?

This isn’t about being that girl who cancels everything. It’s not black and white. It’s more about learning to listen to the Holy Spirit — even in the gray areas. We’ve both had moments where we had to make choices that felt uncomfortable, especially when it meant stepping away from something everyone else was into... or being the one to start a hard conversation.

And that’s what we’re inviting you into. Bring these topics into your friendships. Into your small groups. Into prayer. You don’t have to have all the answers — we sure don’t — but asking the questions? That’s a really good place to start.

This episode isn’t a rulebook. It’s an invitation. Pay attention to what you’re consuming. Ask: How is this affecting my soul? Because at the end of the day, we’re called to live in the world, without becoming of it.
