Welcome to the Daily Nothings
For years, Courtney and Meghan have done what women do best… Send each other unnecessarily long voice memos. Every day, they would chat back and forth in this format, and joked that this would make a very entertaining podcast. Meghan encouraged Courtney to get a podcast started, but amidst Courtney’s constantly busy schedule she never believed that she could actually make it happen.
On Courtney’s 27th birthday, Meghan surprised Courtney with a podcast microphone and said, “You’re doing this. As your best friend, I am certain this is something that the Lord wants.”
Courtney accepted with gift with joy and awe as Meghan continued to explain that she would love to produce the podcast and have her husband, Jake edit the podcast free of charge, reiterating their bold belief that this podcast must happen.
After hours of prayer and discernment, Courtney and Meghan came to the conclusion that the podcast must be named, The Daily Nothings. Their dream was for the podcast to be a discussion based podcast, where they would chat through every day “nothings” that our world tends to disregard and call meaningless. Courtney and Meghan believe that those moments of nothingness are actually the most transformative in the journey we are all on towards eternity.
After a year of producing this podcast and being in awe of the multitude of listeners they grow in weekly, Courtney and Meghan decided to add Meghan on as a cohost to Courtney, and promote her from producer as she offers so much more than producing.
Their goal is for this podcast to be approachable, holy, comical, and convicting every week so that the entire Daily Nothings community can grow together in Sainthood.
Meet Courtney
Hi I’m Courtney, the host of The Daily Nothings! I’m 28, I live in Littleton, Colorado and I am going on three years of being a Colorado resident. I’m originally from Marion, Indiana and I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Tourism, Convention and Event Management with a minor in Business in 2018 from IUPUI (Indiana University, Purdue University-Indianapolis). Some of you might know me from my Instagram account, @becoming.courtney where I share the journey of becoming who the Lord created me to be as His beloved daughter. I converted to Catholicisim in 2015 and I have been so convicted of the Goodness and Truth of the Catholic Church since that year.
I had the dream of starting this podcast for many many years… to be honest I don’t even recall how far back this dream of mine goes. But thanks be to God, with a big nudge from my best friend Meghan, that dream became a reality in 2022.
Hosting The Daily Nothings makes me feel whole. It’s like I’m living in the vocation that Jesus has called me to and let me tell you, it feels great to use the gifts that the Lord has blessed me with. Outside of speaking regularly on The Daily Nothings and The Daily Somethings (our Patreon based podcast), I love to write in my free time. I hope to publish a book in the coming years and continue to evangelize in little ways, meeting our society where they are and encouraging them to invite Jesus into every moment of every day.
Meet Meghan
Hello hello everyone! My name is Meghan Day and I am so excited that I get to say that I am a Co-Host of The Daily Nothings Podcast! I am 27 and live in Fishers, Indiana with my husband (and producer of this podcast), Jake, and my amazing daughter, Ellie. I went to IUPUI and graduated with a Business Finance degree, then served on campus with FOCUS at UW-Oshkosh for 2 years, and finally returned home to work as a software consultant and marry Jake! After having Ellie, I became a stay at home mom and love every second of it. It has also given me the freedom to start this podcast with Courtney! I also love to cook, go on walks, and drink delicious coffee with my friends!
The Lord made it so clear to both Courtney and I that He had given us gifts that work well together, and work well with starting a podcast. After years of dreaming, we finally pulled the trigger and released our first episode (which is hilarious if you haven't listened to it yet) and haven't stopped since. Being a convert to the faith, there has always been great zeal to share the truth and goodness of The Catholic Church and I wanted to find a way that I could share the gospel in a super approachable way. Jesus knew the answer better than I did, and the invitation to share the faith through a podcast has been one of the best adventures ever.
